- In 2009 and 2010, Carefree Patisserie sponsored and judged the gourmet cupcake contest at the Iowa State Fair
- Chef Jennifer treated an audience to a demonstration at the local chef stage during the 2008 Celebrity Food and Wine Expo
- Chef Jennifer entered a 5-tiered Celebration of Des Moines cake into the Celebrity Food and Wine Expo in 2009 and earned a “Thumbs Up” from Duff Goldman (Ace of Cakes)
- Carefree’s Bacon and Butterscotch cupcakes were featured at the Sips in the City event during the 2010 Hy-Vee Winefest held in downtown Des Moines
- Over 800 Chocolate Chip Pancake cupcakes with bacon and bacon-chocolate brownies were devoured at the 2010 Baconfest
- Bacon caramel corn, rye and pancetta truffles and cupcakes were featured at the Cochon 555 tour stop in Des Moines in 2009 and 2010
- Bacon cupcakes were enjoyed by pork fans at the annual SWine event held on the Ankeny DMACC campus in 2008
- For the past 4 years, Jennifer and Christine have had the honor of working on the Iowa State Fair’s famous Butter Cow
